Sweet little Charlotte came to the studio for her newborn shoot model call and she was such a dream! When Charlotte’s mommy and daddy came into the studio a few weeks earlier for their consultation, I knew I was dealing with some absolutely wonderful people…such sweeties they are! And to top it all off they have the cutest little toddler and big brother to Charlotte, Isaac! I loved every minute with Charlotte and her family. Her big brother Isaac was too cute giving her kisses during the shoot. He is definitely going to be the best big brother ever! This beautiful family did not disappoint…so sweet and perfect in every way! When it comes to siblings that are younger, that is always something I photograph right away when the family arrives. I’ll do family shots first, in order to let toddlers warm up to me, then we will move on to sibling shots. I always try to do a combination of a few “traditional” looking at the camera family and sibling shots, as well as those sweet little candid shots of sweet siblings interacting, dad looking at baby, and mom snuggling her newest little bundle. For me, the candid shots are always some of my favorite shots and some of the best shots out of the whole shoot!
I provide EVERYTHING you’ll need at my studio, including a variety of beautiful swaddles, wraps and outfits for your newborn girl or boy. Everything in the studio is based on my style of simple, neutral tones that will look amazing when printed and put up on the walls of your home and will remain timeless and classic…never going out of style. There’s also sweet little headbands and bonnets for girls and handsome little hats for boys.
What should parents and siblings wear? Simple, neutral colors are best. Make sure to stick to solid color pieces and avoid any patterns. I will go over all of this with you during the in person consultation, but of course if you have questions after the fact please feel free to text me a few pictures of the outfits you have in mind and I can definitely assist in helping you to coordinate everything for your shoot!
After your initial inquiry for your newborn shoot I’ll invite you to the studio for an in person consultation. The in person consultation is especially great for first time parents. It’s always nice for parents to meet me in person so they feel completely comfortable with me since I’ll be handing their newborn for a few hours during the shoot. The consultation is also when we will discuss all aspects of what to expect for the day of the shoot. During this time you can also make any color requests to match your home or baby’s nursery colors. Everything I offer is in neutral tones, making it easy to match any walls in any home.
And as always, if there is a specific setup, prop, outfit, headband, bonnet, hat, etc. that you’ve seen on my website or social media that you absolutely love and have to have for your own newborn session, please let me know and we will definitely incorporate that into your shoot!
The reveal of Charlotte’s images was so much fun…I absolutely LOVE seeing my client’s happy, smiling faces when I pull back the curtain and reveal all their beautiful prints to them. Reveal day is definitely the best day!! When you come back to the studio for your reveal of images everything will be printed and set up on the reveal wall. The curtain will be pulled, covering all of your prints so you can’t see them until it’s time! I’ll have you stand in front of the reveal wall, get you to close your eyes, then I’ll pull back the curtain and let you know when to open your eyes to see everything…this is the MOST fun moment for you and I! I can’t wait to see how Charlotte’s mommy decides to display all their prints in their home!
