This three-week-old newborn session at Casey McMinn Photography was such an honor to photograph for mommy and baby. Meet Aria, a sweet and precious three-week-old baby girl. She recently came to Casey McMinn Photography in Atlanta, GA for her newborn portrait session. Aria’s session was filled with stunning solo newborn poses, adorable family portraits, and everything in between.
Three-Week-Old Newborn Session
Photographer Casey McMinn captured Aria’s delicate features and precious expressions in a variety of neutral swaddles, headbands, and soft hats. She also used a variety of props. First, a black woven basket. Second, a small white wooden bed. Third, rainbow chiffon fabrics. Lastly, a rustic wooden drawer to create unique and eye-catching compositions.
Mommy and me poses
After Aria’s solo portraits were complete, Casey moved on to the mommy and me poses. Aria’s mommy wore a variety of gowns provided by Casey McMinn Photography. She posed on several different neutral backdrops, holding and snuggling sweet baby Aria. The results are simply breathtaking.
Aria’s newborn portrait session lasted about 2.5 hours from start to finish. This included hair and makeup for Aria’s mommy done by the in-house professional hair and makeup artist. Katie Thierrien, with Beauty and the Brush is our onsite hair and makeup artist.

- The best time to schedule a newborn portrait session is between 5 and 20 days after birth. This is when babies are still sleepy and flexible, making it easier for the photographer to pose them.
- All clothing and props are provided for baby, as well as the entire family. You do not need to worry about a thing!
- Bring along a bottle and pacifier. Everything else you’ll need is at our studio, such as a changing table, diapers, wipes, creams, lotions, a bottle warmer and more.
- Relax and enjoy the experience! Newborn portrait sessions are a special way to capture this fleeting moment in time.
