Elena’s mom is from Puerto Rico and requested we photograph Elena in a dress from her heritage. I love doing special requests like this. Mom and grandma brought in several dresses that were handmade by their family. We selected this one and I just love how sweet these images turned out. Family treasures make a portrait so special!

Up close detail shots are perfect to show off baby’s sweet little features. As a result you get to remember all those tiny details! The little toes and fingers are just the cutest! With Elena we did a cream on cream setup and added the cute little teddy and floral headband. Sweet snuggles all around!

All curled up and swaddled is baby’s favorite as a newborn. I have a variety of swaddle and wrapping techniques to really show off your sweet bundle of love. You’ll absolutely love these adorable shots!

A popular shot I take of almost every newborn is the bucket pose. This is done with either a bucket, or basket. Baby’s sweet little chin rests on their arms as they catch some zzz’s. For Elena’s session we went with natural wood elements, woven basket and mauve. I also added a little greenery around the basket. I just love how these turned out!

More wrapped posing
Towards the end of the session I will wrap baby up completely for some sweet bundled up shots. Babies love being warm and wrapped up in these poses. Elena did a few propped up and a few close ups with a hand out, under her chin. Lastly, we added a floral piece for her to hold. I also had her Abuela tie a bow with one of the ribbons they brought in. Simply beautiful!

I especially love the family portion of the newborn portrait session. It brings me so much joy when I get to see the proud, smiling faces of baby’s parents. I love helping them show off their new bundle of joy for all to see! The first family portraits are so special.
